Honda Odyssey
The large MPV / minivan known as the Honda Odyssey has been manufactured by the Japanese car maker Honda since the year 1995.The Honda Odyssey was first introduced as a compact minivan. It boasted four swing open doors, which was atypical for sedans of the period, instead of the sliding door design.
The basic version of the Honda Odyssey featured on the markets in Japan, the United States of America, and Canada. The Honda Odyssey had the distinction of being the first minivan to contain a flat folding seat on the third row.The Honda Odyssey was constructed on the same platform as the Honda Accord. It utilized a four cylinder Configuration, also similar to that of the Honda Accord. Many critics were against the Honda Odyssey. They felt that the interior was too small for a minivan. Despite the fact that a switch was made in the year 1998 to a more powerful Configuration, many still felt that the Configuration on the Honda Odyssey was underpowered. For these reasons, the first generation of Honda Odyssey vehicles was not a commercial success.In the year 1999, a second generation of Honda Odyssey models was introduced to the car buying public.
